New Discoveries
Treasures of Santo Domingo de Guzmán

At Tours Maravillas, we are in a constant search for towns full of cultural treasures to share with the world. Our mission is to discover and make known the intangible wealth hidden in every corner, and the municipality of Santo Domingo de Guzmán, in the department of Sonsonate, is a clear example of this.
Recently, the Ministry of Culture recognized and declared the traditional artisanal techniques of red clay pottery in this municipality as a Cultural Asset. In these workshops, artisans not only create comales, pots, kitchen utensils, and other crafts, but also offer tourists the opportunity to live their own experience or simply observe the fascinating process of making beautiful ceramics from red clay. This work has become a family legacy for the owners of the Los Gemelos workshop, who continue to dedicate themselves to this noble craft. At Tours Maravillas, we believe that this interaction is essential to appreciate the authenticity of each place.
But our search does not stop at cultural treasures. We are also in constant search of natural wonders that take our breath away. And in Santo Domingo de Guzmán, we have found a gem: El Escuco waterfall. It is a destination that perfectly combines cultural richness with natural beauty—a place where you can disconnect for a moment from society, technology, and stress, letting the sound of the waterfall lull you while you relax in its refreshing waters, offering a complete experience to our travelers.
Wonders of Nahuizalco

Nahuizalco, a town in the Department of Sonsonate, has earned its cultural identity through artisanal production, especially the crafting of products made from wicker, tule reed, tule, palm, rush, and other natural fibers used to manufacture traditional and ancestral items such as mats (petates), baskets, hampers (tumbillas), fans (sopladores), etc. The history of wicker workshops in Nahuizalco is rooted in its cultural and family heritage; proof of this legacy is Doña Estela De Pulke, a skilled artisan who, thanks to her years of experience, can create complex products made of natural fibers in just a few hours.
Despite her age, Doña Estela De Pulke continues to keep this tradition alive, putting all her effort and passion into creating beautiful and unique artisanal pieces that preserve the cultural heritage of our ancestors.
But that is not the only wonder Nahuizalco possesses; visit the Sensunpán River and discover the beauty of La Vuelta, a striking and pleasant tourist spot where you can enjoy a fun and refreshing adventure at this tourist destination.
